6 Week Watercolour Course: Two

what is covered in the course?

A demonstration at an Artanda workshop
Helena Jackson teaching at an Artanda course
Students in the flow zone at an Artanda course

In this second course we build on the techniques from Course One to explore a range of more advanced subjects. If you have not completed Course One, you may still be able to enrol in Course Two if you have  previous experience painting and drawing.

We will explore:

  • Portraiture (working from a model)

  • How to start drawing people (working from a clothed model)

  • How to capture a sense of movement

  • How to draw interiors and more advanced scenes.

As in course one, you will learn in a supportive, social and peaceful environment. Our focus is on process , not outcome. We will consider art as a way to help us stay grounded in the present moment while developing skills to help us comfortably and confidently record our experiences of the present moment.

All materials will be provided. Every session will include a break with tea and home-made cakes provided.

By joining this course you will gain access to an online platform where you can access notes, upload artwork and continue the conversation with your fellow artists.

You will be equipped with the tools you need to continue your own sketchbook practice. You will be able to confidently attend the drop-in workshops and have the opportunity to stay an active part of the Artanda community through our online Community Groups.
